Historic Sanford home and the unique door hinges

This week I had the opportunity to go out with my new clients. They are relocating here from Ft. Bragg and he is a Green Beret. They are newly weds and first time home buyers, my specialty. My hat goes off to him for his dedication and pride in his country and the danger he puts himself in to continue to keep our country free and safe. Since he is in the military he has a great program available to him, the VA Loan program which gives him 100% financing and no PMI.

My clients love the downtown Sanford area where he is orginaly from and the look and feel of the historic homes.
I have always been intrigued from a design and construction stand point of these homes and on one of our tours I found a great original piece of hardware on this home. The door and hinge's, but the hinge's are what caught my eye. Take a look at the picture of the ornate details and working. The home was built in 1901 and from what I have found it's a Queen Anne styling home.

Fingers crossed for my clients. Im not normally one to go after short sales, but did some research with the agent and my buyers have a place to stay for a while so no rush. The home is truly amazing 3800 sq ft, 3 stories and amazing orginial hardwood floors throughout. I hope over the next few weeks we are able to get some where on this deal, but I had to share the amazing hinges that I found.

"Always work with a Realtor when selling a home. Would you hire a Realtor who has never sold a house before, knows nothing about real estate law, contract negotiation, or sales? Of course not – but that describes you. Don’t hire yourself – hire a real estate sales professional." ~ Ric Edelman

I love the hinges. Wouldn't they look great in a frame as funky artwork?

That place looks awesome.  It sure has a lot of charm to it.  It doesn't look that big from the front though. Hopefully it sells fast.
